Conference of the Commissions for Passenger and Freight Traffic / Plenary Assembly FTE

On 03/04 June 2015 the Conference of the Commissions for Passenger and Freight Traffic as well as the Plenary Assembly FTE took place in Bern.

The Commission for Freight Traffic under the lead of Roland Hartkopf also had to say goodbye namely to Thomas Jau, Deputy Head of the Commission for Freight Traffic. A successor has not been assigned yet.

We honorably said goodbye to Roland Scholten, Head of the Commission for Passenger Traffic (P) after many active years in the Executive Board FTE. Mr. Jean-Yves Leclercq, Executive Director, European Markets & International Development at Voyages SNCF was elected as successor, we would like to cordially welcome him to Forum Train Europe FTE.

On both conferences Mr. Peter Bigler (Project Manager FTE) provided detailed information about the joint RNE/FTE Project «Redesign of the International Timetabling Process (TTR)» .

Following the Commission Conferences Mr. Markus Geyer Head Projects of SBB Infrastructure had an interesting presentation about the longest railway tunnel in the world, the Gotthard Base Tunnel, which will be opened next year.

The supporting program, an aperitif with Swiss specialties and a dinner on the Gurten, the local Mountain of Bern, delighted the participants. And that’s how an eventful day came to an end.

Under the lead of the President of FTE, Stephan Pfuhl, the Plenary Assembly FTE was held on 04 June 2015 in the Hotel Bern. In addition to the statutory part the Strategy FTE 2020 was an important item on the agenda.

Matteo Soldini (Project Manager FTE) presented the activities in the Path Coordination System (PCS) 2014/2015 including an outlook on PCS New Generation and a new user interface that is going into operation on 16 November 2015.
