FTE A Passenger Traffic, 11.01.-14.01.2016

At the coordination conference FTE A passenger traffic, which was held from 11 to 14 January 2016 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), 125 production and timetabling experts from all over Europe participated.  Amongst others, a delegation of TCDD (Turkish Railway Company). It was a record of participants for a FTE A.

PCS NG workshop with Maté Bak (RNE)

.The main objectives of this first conference in 2016 were on the one hand to harmonize the international offering concepts for the timetable 2017 (11.12.2016 – 09.12.2017) between the railway undertakings (RU) and on the other hand to prepare the requests for feasibility studies of the international passenger traffic, which has to be submitted to the Infrastructure Managers (IM) until 18 January 2016 by the Path Coordination System (PCS). The IM carry out the path feasibility studies from 19 January till 14 March. Following the outcomes of these path feasibility studies will serve as the basis for the coordination conference FTE B from 21 to 24 March 2016.

The IM acted at the FTE A conference as advisors and thus they gained an overview of the capacity requirements to be expected of the RU for the timetable 2017.

During the coordination conference FTE A the participants had the possibility to follow a short training about the new interface PCS NG provided by Mr. Máté Bak (RNE).

NB: The Control Change Board PCS will decide on 22 January 2016 if PCS NG will be put into operation on 25 January 2016.
