FTE B Passenger Traffic, 21.03.-24.03.2016

At the Coordination Conference FTE B Passenger Traffic, which took place from 21 till 24 March 2016 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), 120 Planners of all Europe participated.

The main objectives of this second conference of the year 2016 were on the one hand  to take note of the path study results for timetable 2017 (11.12.2016 – 09.12.2017) and on the other hand to harmonize the path requests on the international level between the railway undertakings (RU). The requests for international Passenger Traffic will be submitted to the Infrastructure Managers (IMs) till Monday 11 April 2016 via Path Coordination System (PCS). From 12 April till 04 July 2016 the IMs will elaborate the paths on national level and harmonize it on international level. The draft timetable will be submitted by the IMs to the RUs on 04 July 2016 via PCS.

The IMs participated to the Coordination Conference FTE B as advisor; they got an overview of the planned capacity requirements by the RUs for timetable 2017.

For the first time at a FTE Coordination Conference the RUs and IMs worked with the new PCS NG user interface which has been in operation since 25 January 2016. During the Conference the PCS users were supported by Mr. Jorge Campo, PCS Functional Manager of the RNE Joint Office. With well-targeted training he explained how to edit a dossier.

The participants also got an information about the planned developments in PCS as the functionality “Make Observations” that will be implemented in the next release on 4 April 2016.
