Plenary Assembly FTE

On 31 May and 1 June 2017 the Conferences of the Commission for Passenger and Freight traffic as well as the FTE Plenary Assembly 2017 took place in Bern.

The FTE / RNE project "Redesign of the International Timetabling Process TTR" has been approved by the Plenary Assembly FTE with a large majority as the most important milestone. From December 2017 to December 2020 pilot operations will be carried out on selected routes in order to check whether the processes and components defined in the TTR work smoothly.

Roland Hartkopf Head of the Commission for Freight Traffic and his successor Throster Dieter

The following members were admissioned to the association FTE by the Executive Board: AW Rail Srl (Italy) and ZFBH - Passenger Traffic/ ZFBH - Freight Traffic from Bosnia and Herzegovina as of 01 July 2017. On the other hand, DB Cargo UK has announced the withdrawal from the association as of 31 December 2017.

Roland Hartkopf, DB Cargo AG, will retire from his Executive Board mandate and Head of the Commission for Freight Traffic FTE by 31 December 2017. Mr. Thorsten Dieter, Head of Transport Planning DB Cargo AG was elected unanimously by the members of the Commission for Freight Traffic as successor of Roland Hartkopf from 01 January 2018. The Plenary Assembly FTE and Executive Board express their heartfelt congratulations to Thorsten Dieter and thank him for his future engagement within the association of FTE.

Roland Hartkopf was honoured for his personal efforts during more than 23 years of promoting international traffic through Europe and for his active contribution to the success of the further development of FTE. The Executive Board and Plenary Assembly FTE thank him for his commitment and wish him all the best and foremost good health.

Stephan Pfuhl, President of FTE took the opportunity of FTE’s 20-year anniversary to underline the importance of FTE’s activities in the European railway environment
