Another highlight on the 150th anniversary of European timetable conferences is coming up: As part of the celebrations to mark 175 years of Swiss railways, SBB Historic is organising an event with Forum Train Europe FTE to pay tribute to the European timetable conferences that have existed for 150 years and whose organisation was transferred to SBB CFF FFS 100 years ago.
Edgar Schenk will discuss the importance of timetable conferences in the past and today with Werner Wildener, former timetable manager and "Mister Bahn 2000", and Robér Bormann, responsible for SBB's night trains. Matteo Soldini, long-time technical specialist at FTE and co-editor of the commemorative publication "trains across borders", will show how the conferences have developed over time and present some special gems from the past. Edgar Schenk will conclude by assessing the future significance of the timetable conferences.
The event will take place on 8 September at 17:00 Depot Olten (language German)
